Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Do you book flights for Spain & Portugal?

No, since the advent of the budget airlines direct sell flights we no longer book flights.

  2. Will my tee times be confirmed?

Yes, once we provide you with your confirmation invoice with all the details of your booking it means all the tee times shown have been confirmed by the golf courses. Once we have full payment we issue you with all the necessary paperwork for your booking.

  3. What is High Season for golf on the Costa del Sol?

High Season is September, October, November, February, March, April and May. The prices for golf are at their highest during these months - although some courses do still offer very good value even during this period so please check with us to find out who has offers available. The Summer period June, July and August is when the prices are at their lowest. During December and January the courses offer some good deals and with the lower price of accommodation it makes it a good time to visit the Costa del Sol. For full details see our Special Offers on this website.

  4. Is the weather good for Golf in Spain in the Winter?

Normally it is very good for golf, between 16 and 20 degrees f. It does rain - and it can happen anytime between October and April - it is not as pleasant as when the sun is shining. We always recommend Winter golfers to bring their waterproofs with them - just in case!

  5. What do the golf courses do when it rains?

If the golf course remains open they will expect you to play and, if you choose not to play, they will not offer a refund. If the course has space and you are able to play another day many courses will allow you to change the day. If, however, a course closes due to inclement weather you will need to get your voucher stamped by the golf course and Sunshine Golf will then make a refund to you.

  6. How do I find the golf courses on the Costa del Sol?

If you are not a frequent visitor to the Costa del Sol and need some help find the golf courses Sunshine Golf will provide you with information on how to find the courses and how to get to your accommodation from the airport.

  7. Is the dress code for golf different in Spain?

It is the same as in any other country - polo shirts, smart shorts or trousers. No jeans or t-shirts. Soft spikes are recommended most courses do not allow spikes to be worn.

  8. Do you know where we can get our shirts logo’d?

Yes, Sunshine Golf have their own embriodery facility. We can have them waiting for you on arrival - polo shirts, hats, caps, towels etc can all be logo’d to your own requirements.

  9. What type of Accommodation do you recommend?

Self-catering apartments or hotel accommodation. Most of our hotels are based in the main towns close to bars, restaurants and night-life. But we do also offer hotels on golf resorts or in quieter locations.
Self-catering apartments come in varying sizes and tend to be situated a little out of the town within urbanisations but they are all still within easy reach of bars, restaurants etc.
