Sunshine Golf, whose original aim was to provide the Costa del Sol golfer with a complete, accressible and affordable service, is opening the Costa del Sol’s Golfing Centre, with a launch date of the 1st September, although they expect to be trading from the new premises by mid August. This will be an extension of their existing premises at km 200 on the N.340 , La Cala de Mijas, with 1000m2 of retail sales area.

Earlier this summer they launched a new concept on the coast the Sunshine Golf Club, set up after many conversations with local golf directors, and with the particular involvement of Mike Lovatt from Mijas Golf. The new golf club will provide golf to property owners at an affordable price. There are six courses involved with tee times available every day, competitions and club events are planned on a regular basis, the first was held at Mijas Golf on 29th June, and was a resounding success, with members now looking forward to the next event.This will be a competition to mark the beginning of the golf season, with buffet dinner after the golf, and will be held at Estepona Golf club on 25th September.

This is a fully federated club, and if you would like to join contact Stuart Harvey, the club captain, who will be pleased to give you full details of how the club works, the only thing you need is a NIE number, if you do not have a handicap this can be organised for you by the club.

Sunshine Golf is already well known as the biggest and best stocked golf store on the coast, the new extension will provide them with the additional space needed to ensure that they maintain their enviable position in the market place.

There are two resident PGA professionals in the golfing centre, Tony Marshall, and David Poulton, something unique here on the coast. They are able to discuss product suitability, custom fit clubs and provide a full workshop service to local and visiting golfers.

The Sunshine Golf reservations office, is just another part of the success story, they probably book more green fees than any other company on the coast, and have just formed a new company, Sunshine Viajes, a fully licensed travel company, where they will continue to provide green fees, golfing holidays and handling for other golf holiday companies.
