The New Year started well, with many new members joining, and two very successful competitions at the new Santana Golf Course. We at Sunshine Golf welcome our new members, and look forward to meeting you in the future.

Our first event at Santana was a Competition held on Friday 23rd January, the first chance for many to play this new superb golf course, it was such an enjoyable event, with 40 members and guests playing , that a second Santana Competition was organised for the following Friday. A buffet was offered to us on a complimentary basis by the Funky Monkey at Riviera Beach and everyone had a great time. Although Santana does not offer us special rates for members, we will take advantage of any special offers available to pass on to you. (See future events Santana Comp. 30/3/04) Everyone agreed that Santana is an excellent course and an asset to the coast.

These competitions proved so popular that we decided to run a weekly competitions at Mijas on Sundays, in the afternoon. That is every Sunday until further notice, there is a good crowd so come and join in.

INFORMATION

From the 1st of January the price at Almenara has changed to 45 euros, club times are available on Monday, Wednesday & Friday with times between 08:00 – 09:30. Usually we have to book early times from the earliest forward. Almenara do not have this rule so if you want to book between 9;00 and 9:30 you need to book early

SANTANA MEMBERS DAY

A Competition has again been organised at Santana, we have 32 slots available so you need to make your bookings early for this exciting day on. You can book for this event now, so give us a ring.

The price includes buffet lunch at the Funkey Monkey. We have taken their hospitality twice now and time to pay our way, so the green fee price includes lunch, any non-playing guests are charged at…… for buffet only.

AWAY DAY – BAVIERA GOLF

This idea came from our members, who suggested it was a good idea to play different courses. Several members and some of the Sunshine Golf team have played Baviera, on the east side of Malaga, who all agree it is excellent. We have organised a “day out” green fee coach transport and lunch on the 24th April for 40 pax. To make it viable we need at least 30 players, so let us have your bookings as soon as you can, as usual guests are welcome . Price…….

PRE-BOOKING

This point has been mentioned by many members who replied to our recent survey. We know you would all like to book just before you want to play, and in the low season this is often possible, however, all courses have a cancellation policy and we have to, ‘ give back’ the times 7 days prior to play date in order that the golf course can sell any times not used by us. We have no control over this, so please try to plan your golf early. If you do not live here permanently and are planning a visit to the coast either e.mail us or give us a ring and we can let you know any special events that may be taking place. 952 49 41 61

NEWSLETTER BY POST

Many members, who receive their Newsletter by mail, did not receive it until the middle of January. There was obviously a problem at this time with the post, one batch of mail (all posted on the same day in November) went astray, We will be posting this on the 3rd March, 2004 and trust it will not take too long to get to you.
