Penina Championship** |

The masterpiece by which Sir Henry Cotton wished to be remembered the CHAMPIONSHIP COURSE is reverentially referred to as “The Penina” (10km from the Hotel Algarve Casino). It is fining tribute that the Portuguese Open was held here in 1998, 1999 and 2000. Penina also comprises the 2x9 hole “Resort” and “Academy” courses.

Located near Alvor, a picturesque fishing village in the western Algarve (2,5 km from the Hotel Algarve Casino), this course is set in rolling countryside with views out to the Atlantic and to the busy provincial town of Portimão. Sir Henry Cotton designed it and it features the longest par 5 in Europe.

Truly a fabulous contrast to any of the Algarve’s other courses (23 km from the Hotel Algarve Casino). Built on marshland, at sea level, this is a treat in store. Links-style golf under an expansive sky! The course has become a haven for a wide variety of migratory birds. Not Surprisingly much use is made of the water here, and careful course management should be your, watchword.

The Old Course – Vilamoura** |

The Old Course was designed by English architect Frank Pennink. Opened in 1969, it was completely refurbished in 1996, when several improvements were introduced and a new clubhouse build.
The course is renowned for the way the designer skilfully utilized the natural contours of the land, maintaining the native vegetation, consisting mainly of pine-woods this is one of the courses in Portugal that will always stand out in the memory of visiting golfers (40 km from the Hotel Algarve Casino).

Located between Vilamoura and Almancil, this is the first course to be designed in Portugal by English golf architect Donald Steel. There are now three 9-hole loops and owners and management alike are extremely proud of their ongoing efforts of course maintenance, which continues to honour Steel’s nature protection policies (45 km from the Hotel Algarve Casino).
